HOMECOMING

This is a project about perceiving the notion of identity and the sense of time and aging through the (un)familiar surroundings of my birth town. After a long period of absence, i recently returned for a few days in the town where i grew up and where my 80 years father still lives. It is a small town at the north Greece where is situated the biggest electric power industry of my country.

I went for some long walks with my father at the outskirts of the city, from where we could see the surrounding landscape, natural and industrial. I felt a powerful emotional excitement while i was getting in a state of constant comparison and contrast with the past. The past and the present of my father, my town and my identity. Everything is changing and everything (at its inner core) remains the same.
