Natura 2000 “Click in Nature”.

Updated: Jun 3, 2022

I feel so happy to announce that I was one of the finalists in the second Panhellenic Photography Contest Natura 2000 “Click in Nature”, in the category "Humans and Nature" with one of my photos from the volcanic island of Nisyros.

This year the second organization of the competition "Click in Nature" was sealed with the participation of 1510 creators who through their 4,643 photos in the four competition categories highlighted the natural wealth of our country.

"For the second consecutive year, WWF Hellas and the competition partners welcomed the participants who, by submitting their excellent photographic material in four categories (Man and nature, Birds, Animals and Plants, Landscape) became ambassadors of the Greek Natura 2000 areas.

With their images, the photographers highlighted the ecological dimension of the Natura 2000 sites where endangered species of flora and fauna are protected, raising public awareness on issues such as climate change, sustainable development, and the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. We note that the Natura 2000 network protects in Greece 299 endangered species of animals and plants, 128 species of birds, and 89 important habitats.

The adequate protection of the vast natural wealth of Greece is a matter for all of us. That's why promoting the value of Natura 2000 protected areas can also be a matter for all of us. This was the goal of the organizers of the 2nd photography competition "Click in Nature", the only photography competition dedicated exclusively to the Natura 2000 areas of Greece, which will take place annually."

You can see the virtual 3D photo exhibition with the works that stood out in the second photography competition here:

The exhibition includes the 40 works that were distinguished in the 2nd pan-Hellenic photography competition "Click in nature".

The jury of the competition consists of the photographer, director, and documentary producer Vicky Markolefa, the forester and ardent nature photographer Anastasios Sakoulis, the nature photographer Vassilis Sykas, Dimitris Zantzas communications manager for the biodiversity of WWF Greece, and the journalist of the Photographer Magazine Pan. Caldis.

Congratulations to all the participants!
